Essential Job Functions
- Collaborates with faculty in the creation of new courses and the revision of existing courses
- Recommends the appropriate tools, media, and teaching strategies to accomplish course goals, objectives and outcomes, assisting with the identification, selection and application of appropriate assessment tools and strategies needed by faculty
- Develops and delivers initial and ongoing faculty development in the effective application of online tools, course design and instruction
- Oversees the course development process, monitoring that deadlines are met and that courses meet university standards
- Mentors faculty in the effective use of the online platform for delivery of courses
- Identifies and assists in implementing innovative and effective learning techniques
- Assesses and addresses the needs of faculty on a continuous basis to help improve the effectiveness of instruction
- Collaborates with school leadership on the evaluation of faculty developing and teaching courses
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in instructional design or other related experience
- This position requires the ability to commute to campus for work as needed. Opportunities to work from home may be discussed with the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in education, instructional design or a related field of study
- Experience working in higher education on the development of online courses
- Experience supporting faculty in higher education teaching on-campus, hybrid and online courses
- Experience with Blackboard or another LMS
