We are seeking expressions of interest from Tutors in Cluster Two for a Kaiako-Tutor: Youth Guarantee Programme position to start in Term II.
We are seeking an experienced tutor for a 30 hour per week fixed term position in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland to deliver our 2023 programme to 16 – 24-year-old learners.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga - About the Role
The Kaiako - Tutor will be responsible for delivering the Literacy Aotearoa Youth Guarantee programme to learners, aged 16-24, who seek to increase their literacy and numeracy competencies. Programmes and resources are provided - you will need to ensure that they match the needs of the learners you work with, and when necessary, seek alternative resources, appropriate to their needs.
He pūkenga tou - Skills and Experience
You will:
• Hold a literacy and numeracy qualification (either NZCALNE [Voc] L5 or NZCATT L4), or similar.
• Have proven experience in delivering Youth Guarantee programmes.
• Need to demonstrate a commitment to the kaupapa to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
You will need to have:
• Digital competency in working with Zoom and Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to interact with learners of differing knowledge levels and skills.
• Knowledge of how to deliver and assess unit standards.
• Experience in engaging with Māori, Pasifika and at-risk youth in education.
• Experience assessing and working with young people and adults who have not previously had education success.
