Description

This is an entry-level position in community-based psychosocial rehabilitation services for individuals with severe mental illness. The Recovery Assistant provides Functional Support Services (FSS) including crisis intervention, group and individual therapeutic behavioral services, family support, and medication support for adults with severe mental illness and severe persistent mental illness, designed to assist these individuals to integrate as independently and fully as much as possible into life in the community. Recovery Assistants must demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, decision making and safety consciousness to assure safety and appropriate treatment for consumers in the community.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, education or a related human service field.
Associate’s degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, education, or a related human services field and the following experience: - Two years of experience working with persons who have severe mental disability OR - Two years of experience that provides an individual with an understanding of mental illness and that was acquired as an adult in the provision of significant supports to persons with mental illness, including the experience acquired by family members of persons with mental illness or by other persons who have personal knowledge of mental illness.
Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
