The RSVP Program Coordinator is responsible to recruit, train, place and manage volunteers 55 and older in non-profit and public agencies and in RSVP programs to address community needs through volunteerism; foster and maintain positive working relationships with community partners and the public; and provide administrative support. The Program Coordinator will coordinate and expand America Reads, a region-wide national literacy program; develop new initiatives that align with AmeriCorps focus areas; and participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating the program(s) to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Communications, or related field
- A minimum of three years’ experience in management, marketing, program/volunteer management, program development, community outreach or customer service
- Experience and enthusiasm working in a nonprofit organization with older adults, volunteers, or veterans is desirable
- Experience working with computer programs including Microsoft Suite programs
- Strong communication skills working with people directly, by phone and in groups; excellent writing; analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a results-driven environment.
