Position Overview:
The Director of Family Forward Ministry, manages and provides support to the Family Forward Team and advocate for their needs as they serve women and families. The Family Forward Ministry offers support, healing, and hope to Mothers/families in our community and beyond who have been affected by trauma. The Director of Family Forward (FF) offers hospitality to the groups and individuals who visit our ministry; to be a life-giving presence within the Family Forward Team and within the PBMR neighborhood and larger community. This key leadership role reports directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible to administer, support, supervise, and evaluate the Family Forward Team.
Essential Functions:
Support the mission and values of Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation.
Be an active participant in meetings that promote and guide the mission of PBMR.
Supervise the internal and external services being provided to participants.
Monitor the performance and quality improvement of team members.
Oversee the maintenance of statistical data (CiviCore) and evaluate the data as to service being given to participants.
Take the responsibility for supervision of administrative details (approving Paychex, Civicore...).
Accompany Mothers/families by offering healing circles, personal mentoring, and emotional, financial, and spiritual support.
Prepare the budget and monitor fiscal responsibility of team.
Direct the team’s strategic planning and goal setting.
Prepare, along with other teams/organizations, seasonal celebrations for our families and the neighborhood to keep our spirit of radical hospitality, hope and healing alive.
Develop partnerships with resources that will offer support for participants
Hold the team staff to a high level of engagement in the work of PBMR.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of Precious Blood Spirituality.
Ability to live out of a restorative justice philosophy.
Knowledge of the circle process and restorative justice practices.
Skilled in interpersonal relationship building.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and verbally.
Ability to be a self-starter, problem-solver, and creative thinker of possibilities.
Ability to conduct oneself in a professional, warm, and approachable manner.
Qualifications:
Experience with Restorative Justice Philosophy and Practices.
Flexible schedule - this position requires some nights and weekends.
At least 3 years of experience supporting and working with trauma-affected adults and families, and with people from various ethnic, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Experience with documentation of staff and participants
Experience developing and retaining relationships with other service providers.
Crisis intervention training or knowledge.
Knowledge of Chicago and communities with histories of violence, experience in Back of the Yards & Englewood neighborhoods preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using computer programs to track participant engagement.
Imaginative, dynamic professional with a passion for the PBMR mission.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human services field (i.e. Social Work, Sociology, etc.) or equivalent experience.
No pending criminal cases
PBMR is a drug-free and safe workplace, passing a drug screening and background check is required prior to being hired.
Candidate must have their own vehicle, valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and good driving record; and feel comfortable engaging in community-based services
Participate in and successfully complete the Virtus Training (i.e., Archdiocese of Chicago Safe Environment Training).
Required to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time, move or traverse about the office or building to access office equipment and files, operate a computer or other office productivity machines, occasionally ascend or descend stairs, move, transport, or position boxes up to 25 lbs.

Schedule/Travel: At times, this position requires working evenings, weekends, and travel (occasional overnight).
