The opportunity
Reporting to the Residential Manager and whilst working closely with a dedicated team of care professionals, the Workplace Trainer is responsible for the coordination and delivery of staff training programs and plays a key role in supporting and mentoring our care staff.
Our ideal applicant is an engaging and knowledgeable Workplace Trainer/Carer with a passion for coaching, mentoring and assisting fellow staff members to ensure positive learning outcomes, which ultimately improve resident care.
Key responsibilities (not limited to):
• Ensures that new employees receive comprehensive and timely induction and orientation.
• Ensures that employees maintain currency in mandatory competencies.
• Ensures that training records are accurate, complete and up to date
• Contribute to the safety culture by keeping the workplace safe, clean and tidy, complying always with safe work practices, including infection control and hazard control management, participating in workplace consultation activities, actively participating in safety activities, including hazard and incident reporting as prescribed in the WHSIMS.
Skills, knowledge and experience needed:
• Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment - essential;
• Cert III Aged Care Work (or equivalent)- essential;
• Aged Care Experience – essential;
• Strong communication skills;
