OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW: ATHLETIC COORDINATOR
This position is responsible for supporting the Athletic Department in its delivery of a broad range of youth development programs. Supports Athletic Department to ensure quality programming is planned and delivered. Assists Athletic Department in collecting information and completing administrative duties as assigned. Provide regular clerical and administrative support, prepare and answer correspondence and reports, maintain schedule and calendar, answer inquiries and obtain information for general public, visitors and other interested parties. Help facilitate overall efficiency of professional office functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists Athletic Directors in overall support of administrative operations.
- Provides administrative services for members, staff, community members, and volunteers.
- Builds community relationships for the benefit of the Club inside and outside BGCKC
- Tracks program registration through MyClubHub
- Manage volunteer coaches and occasionally coach teams
- Accept payments on memberships and rentals
- Processes refund paperwork
- Manages marketing for athletic programs to include email blasts, school flyers, etc
- Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with club staff (professional and volunteer), club members, and supervisor. Communicate daily to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions. Collaborate with other clubs as appropriate
External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, member’s parents and others as necessary to be successful in position and as directed by club operations director
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Knowledge and/or experience working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls Club experience preferred
- Functional fluency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Organization and attention to detail. Previous administrative experience preferred
- Strong customer service orientation, professional presence and collaborative approach to internal and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence and professionalism in stressful situations
- Works independently, with little direction or supervision
- Maintains strict confidentiality
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours/week
LOCATION: Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club
PAYRATE: $24.45-$25.50 per hour
FLSA: Non-exempt
