SUMMARY: This position ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Oversees grant billing, ancillary billing, account payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
· Reviews the work of direct reports and others and analyzes the output for appropriate accounting activity, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.
· Drives and manages the accounting specialist team performance of the close process to meet close deadlines and holds staff accountable.
· Performs fund reconciliations and journals as part of month close.
· Contributes to the preparation of GAAP financial statements through data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes.
· Oversees and manages the account reconciliation process.
· Leads execution of the agency’s efforts to ensure compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations.
· Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries
· Support leadership with analyzing, and reporting on general ledger transactions, and other accounting related projects as needed.
· Assisting in efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures, and policies for the department.
· Assists with incoming requests and communication from other departments.
· Performs special accounting projects and other duties as assigned.
· Effectively works with all levels of management and staff.
· Represents the Agency in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner.
· Demonstrates sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
· Demonstrates strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written skills.
· Utilizes a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
