ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Parent Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing essential support to families facing complex challenges. With a focus on delivering practical assistance and emotional guidance, you'll work closely with families to empower them to overcome obstacles and build stronger relationships.
Your responsibilities will include holding a caseload and delivering effective support to families with diverse needs. Through collaborative efforts with partners such as schools, churches, Early Help, and other referral agencies, you'll ensure a seamless flow of referrals and maintain open lines of communication to best serve families in need. Flexibility is key in this role, as you'll be expected to deliver various forms of informal parent support tailored to the unique needs of each family. Whether conducting one-on-one sessions or facilitating group workshops, you'll utilise a needs-based, solution-focused framework to guide your interactions and provide relevant resources to participants. Above all, you'll uphold the values and ethos of Spurgeons, maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding and child protection protocols. Your dedication to our mission and commitment to promoting positive outcomes for families will be instrumental in shaping the success of our programmes and initiatives. ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Parent Support Worker at Coastal Family Hub. While a Level 3 qualification in child and social care-related fields is desirable, what we value most are your interpersonal skills and your commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of families in our community. Your experience of working with children and families in a community-based setting, coupled with your ability to effectively collaborate within a team and work autonomously, will be invaluable in this role. You'll have the opportunity to showcase your excellent communication and administration skills, along with your proficiency in using IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. As someone who is adaptable, caring, and committed, you'll thrive in this dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to support families facing various parental challenges and mental health issues. Your empathetic nature and ability to actively listen will enable you to build trust and rapport with families, empowering them to navigate through difficult situations and access the support they need. Being a continuous learner and self-motivated individual, you'll seize opportunities for personal and professional growth, embracing ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and expertise. Your resourcefulness and persistence will be instrumental in overcoming obstacles and finding creative solutions to meet the diverse needs of the families we serve.
