ABOUT US
Our teams of counsellors work holistically to provide counselling to children in schools, in our centres and online. We support children and young people who are experiences a range of difficulties such as exclusion, behavioural challenges, self-harm, anxiety and depression. We also offer flexible parenting programmes that aim to support, mentor, and equip parents to manage their family life and relationships better.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a children’s sessional counsellors you will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic intervention and psychoeducation to children and young people in schools in Kent and Surrey. You will manage your caseload, conduct assessments and attend meetings. You will maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and interventions whilst consulting with pastoral teams in schools, parents/care givers and statutory organisations. This is a sessional face to face role and you will need to be available between 9am to 3pm. You will to be fully insured, a member of a relevant professional body, hold a DBS or be part of the update service. Please note that this position is on a self-employed basis.

You are obviously a dedicated, caring, compassionate and self-motivated counsellor who is looking for their ideal role with an employer that lives their values, that employer is Spurgeons. If you are a qualified children’s counselling, you are a registered member of a professional body outline in the job description and you have at least 100 hours experience of counselling children and 100 hours counselling adults, we want to hear from you. Your personable, creative and empathetic nature enables you to engage and connect with children and young people and your commitment to them demonstrates your dependability which is vital for their wellbeing. Your interpersonal skills allow you to work confidently and in an organised manner, you are able to communicate effectively with all and your fair mindedness sees you working in a collaborative manner to ensure you everyone’s opinion is valued. As an independent continuous learner, you consistently engage with CPD in line you’re your professional bodies recommendations and you motivate all to be the best version of themselves.
