Personal Care Assistant I
The Personal Care Assistant I provides culturally sensitive and respectful personal care and home management
support for service recipients in their chosen place of residence, while ensuring that services provided are in
alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency. This position is year round.
Qualifications
Education
Required
High School or better in Social Work.
Experience
Required
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Current certification as a Nurse Aide with the Texas Department of Health( preferred); and documented evidence of status on the Texas Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry with no findings of service recipient abuse or neglect, or misappropriation of service recipient property.
3. While performing the duties of this job, candidate must be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell.
6. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
Preferred
4. At least one (1) year’s experience in direct care of service recipients in an institutional setting. At least one (1) year of full-time experience within the last five (5) years in direct patient care in a home health or institutional setting.
5. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
