Overview of Position:
We’re hiring a Program Operations Manager to assist our Director of Legal Services in delivering on our mission of universal access at all Open Door Legal locations and ensuring our legal team delivers efficient and effective legal services. This is an engaging role with the opportunity to support our legal staff through strategy, innovation, and implementation.
A successful candidate will have exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic skills, the ability to proactively project plan, and the ingenuity to approach problems from a systems perspective. This person will also play a significant role in realizing our mission of universal access by implementing strategies and systems that maximize the time our program team spends on providing legal services.
Overall, this position is intended to be an extremely rewarding experience for someone looking for a challenge and wanting to be a highly effective program operations manager. This position provides more support to the Director of Legal Services and legal team. You will report directly to our Director of Legal Services.
Responsibilities:
- Build systems to ensure program operations enable program staff to focus on efficiently working on legal casework, reduce guest/client barriers to access, bring in potential clients, facilitate data collection, and minimize risk and liability. Scale these operations to new neighborhood-based offices.
- Lead strategy, innovation, and monitoring of all Program projects in order to meet the goals and vision set by the Legal Director. Provide related guidance on change management and leadership to the Legal Director.
- Ensure that the program team has multiple levels of goals that demonstrate and track the success of the program team. Support this data collection and analysis.
- Oversee grant implementation, which includes ensuring that the program team is meeting all grant requirements, working with the Department of Finance, and providing guidance to the Legal Director, who will coordinate grant implementation across non-program departments.

Requirements:
- At least two years of experience working in nonprofit operations with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic skills and a history of utilizing evidence-based best practices, key metrics, and ongoing organization and analysis of data to best inform decisions and strategies.
- Excellent communication skills–easily able to demonstrate concern for various stakeholders, create an environment of mutual trust and a sense of shared purpose, and collaborate within and across departments.
- Ability to take direction and manage projects and tasks independently, efficiently, and with excellent organization.
- Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable success and program growth.
- Must work out of any one of our office locations at least four days per week.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with low-income and vulnerable populations.
- Having lived a significant period of your life in San Francisco proper.
- Experience working at a legal non-profit organization
- Experience working as a non-profit program manager with multiple sites
- Experience with grant implementation and budget planning.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Willingness to make a minimum two-year commitment to the organization
Starting compensation is $82,500 - $98,500 per year based on experience.
