Essential Job Functions
- Supplements faculty work with students across all elements of specific applied initiatives, including, coaching through specific project work, application of research to resolve business issues, and development of presentations/reports
- Infuses industry knowledge of current tools and techniques onto project-based work and assists in training students on their application
- Champions an industry perspective on teamwork and collaboration with students
- Collaborates with faculty to coach students through industry-ready professional deliverables including, analyses and reporting
- Demonstrates the potential career trajectories within the industry and discusses these opportunities with students
- Consults on all aspects of current industry standards for marketing and provides the department with ideas on how to adapt to the industry changes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field of study
- Moderate amount of experience working in a broad range of finance areas such as risk management, strategic financial planning, portfolio management and/or applied behavioral finance
- Ability to attend investment fund meetings on campus, which may include evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or greater in finance, or a related field of study with summative finance coursework and/or five or more years of industry-level experience with appropriate certification (e.g. CFP, CFA, CMA, CFS, etc...)
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Experience in portfolio management and strategic financial planning
