Peckham Inc. - Mechanic Level 1 (Flint, MI)

Wage: $11.50 per hour
SUMMARY
This entry level Mechanic position is responsible for repairing production machinery and performing preventive maintenance to production machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Repair and perform general maintenance on production machinery.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. This includes but is not limited to replacing broken or malfunctioning components of machinery.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Analyze information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
- Maintain repair and maintenance logs for evaluation of machines.
- Maintain, promote, and adhere to all safety standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Promote one-point lessons.
- Must be sensitive to cultural diversity and able to work with people from various backgrounds.
- Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Mechanic experience is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read limited number of two or three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 0's and I00's. Ability to perform these operations is using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
