Prevention Services Supervisor
Friendly House, Inc., is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency located in Phoenix, Arizona whose primary function is to provide a variety of educational and social service programming aimed at addressing the needs of low-income individuals and families, vulnerable populations and diverse communities. Additionally, Friendly House operates a charter school, Academia del Pueblo, with the mission to provide an academic environment which promotes a culture of high expectations to students from diverse cultures. Friendly House was organized in 1920 as the Phoenix Americanization Committee by a group of Phoenix citizens with the assistance of the United States Department of Education. In our 100-year history, the work of Friendly House has resulted in building resilient communities that are helping to spur economic development, stabilize neighborhoods and revitalize our city.
Position Summary
The Family Services Supervisor plays a vital role within our organization, leading the oversight and management of a diverse array of youth and adult prevention initiatives. This position is pivotal in providing strategic direction, leadership, and supervision to a dedicated team of professionals. The Family Services Supervisor leads efforts in parent education, drug prevention, and teen pregnancy programs among youth. Their critical role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that aim to promote healthy behaviors, reduce risk factors, and enhance the overall well-being of our community.

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of social services case management and facilitation experience (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an (IVP) “Identity Verified Print” Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, nonprofit leadership and management, or related field.
- 3 years of management experience, with a focus on youth and adult prevention programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Public speaking skills
- Experience in grant writing and budget management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of Family Services staff members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct interviews and oversee the hiring of program staff, working with HR for recruitment, selection, onboarding, and hiring process.
- Actively participate in departmental and organizational leadership meetings, offer input, and collaborative solutions to drive the organization’s mission forward.
- Collaborate closely with the support services team (IT, HR, Accounting, Marketing, etc.) to meet the organization’s operational needs.
- Responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of prevention programs such as, the Arizona Department of Health Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs (Title V SRAE, Lottery Abstinence, PREP), and the Governor’s Office of Youth Faith and Family Parents Commission Grant (Parent Education and Drug Prevention).
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct staff, setting goals, and identifying areas of professional development and growth.
- Collaborate with other contractors to build relationships and strengthen community networks, serving as the main point of contact for program-related matters.
- Initiate and contribute to internal collaboration efforts within the department and organization.
- Serve as the key liaison with community partners, stakeholders, and other organizations to enhance program visibility and develop new partnerships.
- Develop outreach strategies and support staff in collaboration efforts to ensure program accessibility at school and community settings.
- Assist team members in coordinating all program-related activities, including events.
- Monitor program outcomes and effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the completion and submittal of reports.
- Ensure adherence to all grant requirements, guidelines, and reporting deadlines, maintaining accurate and up to date records.
- Manage multiple program budgets and supplemental grants/contributions ensuring financial sustainability.
- Provides support with grant applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Family Services
