The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.
We are seeking an experienced Programs Coordinator to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will work closely with individual youth regarding their education with the support of their families while delivering and assisting in areas of opportunities to the students on the LFL program to for fill their educational needs.
About our role
You will be responsible for:
- To coordinate the delivery of the Learning for Life program in the Dapto Community, supporting families to achieve a high level of school attendance, effective school transitions, senior school engagement and post school planning which contribute to participation in post schoolwork or study in the long term
- The role works with a prioritised group of students and families on their identified goals and uses a collaborative process to develop actions related to these goals. The scope of the role is to link families with the services, information and support they have identified
- The role will work with partner schools to build and maintain relationships to support the educational outcomes of Learning for Life students
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- High-level interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in presenting and facilitating.
- Excellent organisational administrative skills (including computer literacy, data, and time management)
- Demonstrated capability to manage and plan own work to achieve identified goals within time constraints.
- Flexibility to respond to competing demands.
- Good negotiation skills
- Holds a current driver's license
- Have or are willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
