Position Overview:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) will be responsible for enhancing access to healthy emergency food and benefits supports for New Yorkers through existing and emerging initiatives. The position will work closely with staff to refine and enhance existing programs including the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP), Nourish NY, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), and Food Support Connections. The position will partner with emergency food providers (EFPs), government agencies, funders, and other stakeholders on the range of programs that we offer. The AVP will collaborate with the Food & Benefits Access unit (FBA) as well as the Community Impact Department and others at UWNYC to strategically expand our work based on need and potential impact, with an emphasis on improving food security and the food system as a whole. Key functions of the position are developing and implementing data strategy, improving communication and outreach alignment across FBA programs, and working with cross-sector partners to further the mission of UWNYC FBA. The AVP will support management of grants, contracts, and budgets. The AVP will serve as a thought partner to the VP in aligning processes and strategies, and they will bring subject matter expertise in the areas of food insecurity, public benefits, and food systems. The AVP will collaborate with all Community Impact units – Health Equity, Education Equity, and Justice & Opportunity – as well as operations units within UWNYC including Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, Human Capital, and Finance to accomplish FBA goals.

$87,767 - $153,593 a year
