Job overview: The Senior Manager will help lead the day-to-day functioning of our HR & People Operations team along with the Senior Director of People Operations & HR. They will assist in providing guidance and direction to management and staff on key employee life-cycle junctures, including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and success. This position requires discretion and a high degree of confidentiality, as well as a strong commitment to continual improvement and the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA (onsite hybrid)
SALARY: $90,000 - $110,000
Responsibilities

Compliance: Stay up to date with state and federal employment laws. Develop and implement applicable policies and procedures to reduce HR compliance risk. Provide support in the interpretation and implementation of Common Sense HR policies and guidelines. Manage Common Sense employment records to ensure that all data is complete and accurate.

Payroll & Benefits Administration: Assist in processing payroll. Maintain state tax registrations., Update employee files as necessary. Support in the management and development of benefits programs, including open enrollment, wellness, volunteer programs, etc.

Hiring & Onboarding: Manage Common Sense hiring process from start to finish, including fielding initial job requisitions, recruiting top talent, shortlisting and interviewing candidates, and making official offers. Manage the collection and documentation of new hire paperwork. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.

Employee Development & Performance: Provide performance management process guidance and feedback. Support leaders in facilitating successful performance reviews. Manage performance review cycles. Assist with company training and education programs.

Employee Relations & Offboarding: Facilitate the offboarding process. Conduct exit interviews. Field employee complaints, suggestions, and questions. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations for any serious employee relations issues that may arise.

Employee Engagement & Culture: Promote a positive and inclusive work culture that aligns with the organization's values and vision. Implement employee feedback mechanisms and utilize data to drive continual improvement.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or equivalent experience is required.

Minimum 8 years of progressive career experience in HR.

SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred.

Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.

Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to build relationships, effectively resolve conflicts, and commit to confidentiality.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Strong computer and tech skills: G Suite required and MS Office helpful.

Knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems. Paycom knowledge is a plus.

Fluency in another language is a plus.
