AbleLight is seeking a Director of Behavioral Services. The Director of Behavioral Services plays a pivotal role within the core leadership team at AbleLight.
In this position, you will collaborate directly with leaders, managers, and other key stake holders to advance the creation and implementation of AbleLight’s strategic growth initiatives. The Director of Behavioral Services serves as the caretaker of our clinical ABA teams across multiple regions, supporting a variety of service lines offered by AbleLight. Leveraging innovation, leadership, and problem solving, you will help foster the professional growth of your direct report(s) and teams, maintain and improve the quality of client care, and oversee a program that results in substantial impact to the communities we serve. This position reports directly to the Area Vice President of Clinical Services and Quality. A successful Director of Behavioral Services has a strong operational skill set complemented by an equally strong clinical background.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a BCBA with supervisory experience of direct reports
- 3+ years of operational leadership and strategic planning within a multi-state company
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Serving others, giving & receiving feedback, holding self & others accountable.
- Collaboration, listening skills, conflict resolution, and leveraging technology to the fullest.
- Quality and continuous improvement of self and processes.
- Evidence of good written and oral language skills and strong organizational skills.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient with utilizing and managing Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to travel across multiple states to meet business needs.

- Builds, sustains, and leads the Behavioral Services department.
- Provides clinical expertise, oversight, initiative, leadership, and programmatic consultation to our teams of BTs/ RBTs/ BCBAs along with Area Vice President of Clinical Services and Quality.
- Upholds standardized quality of behavior services across all AbleLight locations.
- Initiates, monitors, and enforces regulatory requirements.
- Holds self and others accountable to policy, standards and commitments and provides timely follow through on questions and concerns.
Operational Leader:
- Develops and manages operational initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Interprets impact of broad scope organizational change for staff and develops change strategies for successful implementation.
- Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety, marketing, and human resources.
- Support team members with time and caseload management, documentation requirements, and productivity targets.
- Directs the day-to-day operations of the behavior services program and implements administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
- Oversees schedules and BCBA caseload management including identifying new clients and problem-solving caseload barriers.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure coordination between cross functional services and clinical/administrative activities of impact.
- Ensures all federal, state, local regulatory requirements are met, and all behavioral health operations follow clinical guidelines, licensure, and contractual regulations.
- Support development of business opportunities and new growth strategies across multiple regions.
- Collaborate with leadership to generate ideas and opportunities to increase impact and scale through successful service implementation and additional collaboration with organizational partners.
- Assist with budgetary considerations to ensure AbleLight resources have maximum impact.
Clinical Leader:
- Remains current of best practices and incorporates these into Behavioral Services practices and programs.
- Oversees quality assurance and auditing of the behavior services programs including program content, clinical care, documentation, and outcome measurement.
- Extensive experience conducting skills and behavior assessments within a clinical setting and following insurance policies and procedures.
- Expert knowledge of scientifically validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit individuals with developmental disabilities, including familiarity with current related research findings.
- Integrity and advocacy skills. Must be comfortable leading meetings and training/professional development with external partners, internal management and/or other stakeholders.
- Proficient with functional assessment development, program/goal development, behavior reduction and skills acquisition procedures and staff training.
- Works with integrity and adheres to the BACB Ethical Code, HIPAA practices, and company policies.
- Ability to provide service in a way that promotes a culture of community, excellence, and efficiency.
- Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of clients and have diverse skill set and broad expertise.
Growth & Critical Interfaces:
- Represents the organization in communities that we serve to help elevate and promote the AbleLight brand of services.
- Collaborate with AbleLight leadership to improve internal systems, increase shared organizational outcomes, and expand reach of behavior services.
- Serve as a bridge to other AbleLight leaders, managers, and providers to ensure an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to care, with the goal of delivering quality and meaningful behavior services to the people we support.
- In a future state, will serve as a member of the Behavioral Services Leadership Team and plays an active role in organizational strategic planning.
- Community Relationships & Quality:
- Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, caregivers/families, and regulatory agency leaders to establish rapport and trust among all stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain cohesive communication and excellent service delivery, including treatment planning and progress monitoring.
