WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in well-lighted, temperature controlled patient-treatment areas; requires standing for long periods; the noise level is usually moderate; work is fast paced. Subject to shift rotation. Subject to exposure to blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mists, and gasses, biological, mechanical, electrical, chemical and other hazardous materials. The incumbent is expected to adhere to the Hospital’s Drug and Smoke Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, reach, sit, bend, push/pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, lift, balance and perform repetitive movements. Occasional upward neck extension and side to side twisting of the neck with frequent down flexion of the neck. Requires ability to stoop with bent knees and bend forward/backward from the waist. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds through assisted lifting. The employee uses sight, hearing, speech, and manual dexterity of hands, wrists, and fingers with tactile sensory of fingers. Ability to distinguish audible alarms.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
- must be the final year of a respiratory care training program.
- Graduated from or actively enrolled in a CoArc approved Respiratory Care Educational Program
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
