Position Overview: CARS is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Software Project Manager to join our team and lead initiatives for our Business Information Serivces Department. In addition, this role will oversee software development and update efforts for CARS' vehicle donation program, On the Go transportation program, and internal CRM systems. This mid-level position provides an opportunity to grow and develop within the department and company, fostering your professional journey while making a meaningful impact.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements and detailing documents to be used as blueprints for software projects, including defining the scope, allocating resources, identify gaps or conflicts, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of products and business objectives, to provide effective support and guidance to team members to achieve goals.
- Effectively manage and coordinate multiple new and existing product launches in collaboration with various teams within the organization.
- Maintain project timelines, recognizing risk to critical dates, communicating conflicts.
- Liaise and follow-up with internal teams to ensure project related tasks are executed on-time.
- Planning out the blueprints for software projects, including defining the scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.
- Participating in and supervising each stage of the project.
- Ensuring each project stays on schedule and adheres to the deadlines.
- Determining and overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all stages of completion.
- Tracking milestones, deliverables, and change requests.
- Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information.
- Provide backup to team-members, perform other duties as assigned or required.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in project management and software development.
- Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques.
- Excellent technical knowledge.
- Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills.
- Strong attention to detail
Skills:
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with project management and communication tools, Slack, DevOps, and Jira.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites to include Excel at an intermediate level.
- Passion to thrive in a constantly changing environment with shifting priorities.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive level personnel.
- Experience in writing and editing policy and procedures is preferred.
Performance Requirements:
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse business set, this includes switching contexts, juggling detailed information, and closing loops.
Salary Range:
$100,000 to $135,000 based on experience and qualifications.
