About the Position:
As the Manager, Communications & Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for orchestrating strategic communications initiatives and cultivating meaningful partnerships in the public charter school sector across the country. This individual will craft compelling campaigns, forge valuable alliances, and elevate Civic Builders’ brand nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and execute communications strategies, in collaboration with broader Strategy & Development team, to drive engagement and business development, including development and placement of collateral such as press releases, newsletters, annual reports and other relevant media.
- Partner with product teams to align storytelling and messaging around Civic’s work with our prospective school partners’ needs.
- Leverage data-driven insights to continually refine marketing tactics, ensuring campaigns are optimized for maximum impact and return on investment.
- Provide mentorship and direct management to Marketing & Communications Associate.
- Identify, develop, and nurture partnerships with relevant entities to expand the organization’s reach and increase brand visibility.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the national public charter school sector, identify trends in charter school growth markets, and provide regular feedback to the Chief Operating Officer and product originations teams.
- Lead participation in important national conversations about education reform and charter facilities challenges through panel discussions, workshops, or education-focused conferences.
- Raise the presence of Civic Builders in the education reform sector and public education sector in order to drive business and funding opportunities to the organization.
- Participate actively in education reform groups and related organizations to leverage connections and insights to inform and enhance Civic’s initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and partnerships and business development.
- Strong understanding of charter school landscape, with experience in education reform and K-12 education landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative communications strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Skilled in cultivating and managing partnerships, with strong relationship building skills.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint and Canva.
- Experience in data analytics and tracking campaign performance.
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to distill complex topics into compelling narratives.
- Passion about Civic's mission to support high-quality education options for under-resourced communities.

Work Environment, Compensation and Benefits:
- Civic is located in New York City and has a hybrid, collaborative work environment. Local team members, and the Communications & Strategic Partnerships, work at least two days in our NYC office with telework the rest of the week.
- The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience.
