Client Information- A nonprofit community center founded in 1984.Services including: preschool, food pantry, Senior Program, GED/HSE program and ESL program.
Job Summary- Responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of children, seniors, staff and other passengers during bus transportation.
Job Duties
·Drive gasoline, powered 25 passenger bus to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, school activities and programs.
·Maintain the safe operating condition, fuel and cleanliness of the vehicle, immediately reporting any problems to the Director of Operations.
·Follow strict time schedules when picking up and dropping off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations.
·Communicate with staff and parents to adjust route & schedule as necessary.
·Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
·Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and or fares received.
·Follow driving and child safety rules.
·Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
·Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation systems for passenger comfort; conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes.
·Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
·A valid commercial driver’s license or chauffer license to operate a bus; clean driving record
·High School diploma or equivalent
·1-3 years of driving experience; working for a childcare facility a plus
·Flexibility in working hours to accommodate organization needs
·Ability to pass fingerprint clearance test
·Must be 21 years of age
·Hours: M-F7a to 4:30pm (1 hour lunch); or 8am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)
