PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Services Coordinator acts as a resource, ally and advisor to Shelter participants, supporting in the routine operation of each Shelter by administering resident intake and monitoring of the floors for safety and order.
Responsibilities include providing participants with a meaningful orientation about Shelter programs and services and engaging them in Shelter activities. Each Services Coordinator will also provide and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all. Daily responsibilities include:
Checking the interior (client living quarters, bathrooms, and community rooms) and exterior of the building on a regularly-assigned schedule to maintain a clean, safe environment.
Inspecting the facilities to maintain security and program compliance.
Maintaining Shelter Operation Logs according to procedure.
Performing all duties within the parameters of the Shelter Policy and Procedure Manual as well as all Standards of Care policies.
Helping orient all participants to program rules and responsibilities of each Shelter.
Applying Shelter rules and regulations in a fair and equitable manner to all participants.
Maintaining Shelter records in an accurate, complete and legible manner (including attendance, disciplinary actions, eligibility status, bed assignments, late arrivals, etc.).
Answering phones, taking messages, attending to requests for information in a professional manner according to Shelter procedure.
Maintaining client computer records (CHANGES) according to HSA and Shelter procedures.
Assisting Shelter and client volunteers.
Completing and submitting maintenance requests to Facilities Manager.
Responding to all participant requests and questions in a professional and courteous manner.
Immediately reporting any problems to Supervisor(s) or Manager(s) in accordance with Shelter policies and procedures.
Attending and participating in daily shift change meetings.
Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for participants including the stripping of beds, clearing of lockers and sleeping areas as assigned.
At the end of every shift, ensuring paperwork is complete and workspace is cleaned and organized.
Collecting, tagging, storing, and disposing of participant property according to Shelter policies and procedures.
Honoring and abiding by Agency rules of confidentiality.
Encouraging participants to engage in groups, activities, and Shelter outings.
When the Supervisor is offsite, acting as a decision-maker for critical incidents relating to the operation of each Shelter. As needed, the Services Coordinator will immediately call the Supervisor or any Site Management staff person for direction.
May also be responsible for facilitating groups, workshops, and client meetings.
As needed, referring clients to the SF-START team and preparing START intake forms.
As needed, attending staff meetings or trainings even when outside of regular work hours. Participation in all applicable staff trainings and staff meetings is crucial to the success of every ECS employee.
Performing all other duties as assigned and required.
