The Service Desk Specialist, reporting to the IT Manager - Service Desk, is crucial for our IT infrastructure's efficiency, providing thorough technical support to our internal team. This role covers resolving hardware/software issues, managing system access, and ensuring IT services run smoothly. It requires technical proficiency, excellent customer service, and a proactive stance on service desk operations.
What you’ll do:
- Proactively monitor and resolve service desk tickets, prioritizing by urgency
- Lead IT setup for new hires in our Launchpad onboarding program
- Collaborate with Canadian teams for consistent IT practices and policy alignment at the Barcelona office
- Manage hardware and software requests, from troubleshooting to solution delivery
- Offer IT training and assistance on software use, email, network tools, updates, and troubleshooting
- Maintain meeting room tech and video conference equipment, ensuring reliability for presentations
- Handle user access and security for Benevity software systems
- Oversee lifecycle of MacBooks from procurement to decommissioning
- Keep IT documentation and knowledge base up-to-date for team and user reference
What you’ll bring:
- Strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills for positive team and internal customer interactions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- IT-related post-secondary education or a minimum of five years relevant IT experience
- Current or in-progress certification in hardware/software troubleshooting (e.g., A+, Network+)
- Hands-on experience with Okta Workflows and Universal Directory for secure access management
- Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting, aiming for high-quality support
- Experience in a corporate IT setting with knowledge of DNS, SMTP, Firewalls/NAT, and WIFI
- Strong knowledge of macOS and experience with Kandji for Apple device management
- Skilled in using JIRA Service Desk for IT service request management
- Understanding of infrastructure as code concepts for modern IT practices
- Willingness to travel for on-site support, training, or IT infrastructure tasks
