Information Systems
Position Summary:
This position plans, implements, administers and optimizes server infrastructure & server based controls to achieve high performance of business and clinical applications. Acquires, configures and maintains physical and virtual servers in testing and production environments. Responsible for business & clinical application software updates. Maintains & tests accurate backups. Addresses simple to moderately complex issues. Works closely with various LMHS departments, IS Project Managers & IS leadership to ensure that supported applications are performing in an optimal manner and updated as scheduled. Responsible for disaster recovery planning & business continuity of supported systems. Works with other IS team members to ensure that servers & network infrastructure are installed in the data centers according to established standards.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of new servers.
- Troubleshooting basic server hardware and OS issues.
- Assist in patch deployment and server upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain server(s) performance and availability, make recommendations to correct any issues.
- Document common tasks and standard operations for server administration.
- Respond to end user issues that have escalated from Desktop Support.
- Works with internal staff and vendors to establish best practices.
- Work on ongoing IT projects as assigned.
- Basic understanding of network protocols to support Windows servers.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar degree, preferred
- 2 - 5 years’ experience of Service Desk or Information Technology Support.
- Proven ability to fix moderate to complex issues related to hardware and software.
