JOB TITLE: Student Recruitment Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment
LOCATION: Chicago, IL Requires travel around Chicagoland
JOB OVERVIEW: The Student Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing and executing a K-12 recruitment and outreach strategy for CICS’ portfolio of 13 CICS campuses. The Student Recruitment Specialist will collaborate with the Recruitment and Enrollment team to devise and execute a strategic plan that will drive student and parent engagement and interest through a variety of channels and processes including: collaborating on School Management Organization (SMO) events, community partnerships, elementary and high school counselor engagement, and support creating marketing and outreach campaigns.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management /Oversight
- Works closely with the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment to build an innovative K-12 strategic plan, work cycle, and timeline for student recruiting and enrollment for CICS campuses
- Spearhead grassroots recruitment efforts
- Builds a strong partnership with SMO and campus staff
- Develops metrics and outcome measurements to drive success for student recruitment and enrollment
Partnership/Support
- Monitors the progress of the recruitment strategic plan and partners with school leaders to execute initiatives and course correct as necessary
- Provides Director of Recruitment and Enrollment with weekly reports that contain data and information on recruitment efforts across the campuses including community outreach efforts and family engagement
- In collaboration with SMO recruitment teams, supports campus student recruitment fairs and events
- Develops partnerships with current and prospective student pipelines (e.g., potential feeder schools and organizations outside of the CICS network community).
- Engages and builds strong relationships with state and local officials and community-based organizations in order to build a stronger community presence
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to administrative support staff and/or students
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Meet and Hangouts)
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in education or community engagement, preferably with student recruitment or community organizing.
- Bilingual in Spanish (conversational) is preferred.
- Marketing experience including knowledge of marketing and promotional plan development and implementation.
- Requires travel to offsite locations around Chicagoland.
TRAVEL
This position is based out of Chicago International Charter School’s office location in the heart of downtown Chicago. At CICS, we believe in offering a hybrid work environment that balances the importance of collaboration with flexibility. Employees are expected to be in person at a CICS location at least 1 day a week and may work from home on other days.
SALARY
The salary range for this position is $57,000-$68,000. Incoming salaries are determined based on experience and internal equity.
