Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development for Parent & Family Philanthropy, the Coordinator of Parent & Family Philanthropy is responsible for the team’s administrative, data, volunteer management, stewardship, and communication tasks. Grounded in care for the whole person (cura personalis), this position works closely with the Senior Director to develop a comprehensive strategy for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding parent and family philanthropic support. The Coordinator will execute all aspects of parent and family engagement events and initiatives, creating welcoming environments that invite families of all backgrounds into a shared purpose. By helping enhance fundraising strategies, the Coordinator fosters a healthy, inclusive donor pipeline dedicated to the restless pursuit of excellence (magis). Some travel and evening/weekend work is required.
Essential Functions
Responsible for volunteer management and oversight of Fordham’s Parents’ Leadership Council, ensuring all feel a deep sense of belonging and connection to the University, regardless of their background. Creates strategic and regional programming that elevates parent leadership philanthropy and enhances support of the University’s mission to advance the broader common good. Leads all parent and family philanthropy event preparation, planning, and execution. Organizes and spearheads event logistics to support the Parent and Family Philanthropy Team’s fundraising strategies, ensuring all gatherings reflect inclusive excellence and make families of diverse traditions feel genuinely welcome. Develops fundraising communications to support the overall parent engagement and fundraising strategy, translating Jesuit values into universally accessible messages of service and community. Facilitates and coordinates regular communications with parents through the website, regular PLC newsletters, and emails to individual members. Assists and executes annual giving strategies as directed by partnering with Fordham Fund colleagues to conceptualize, develop, and manage the process for effective multichannel parent and family fundraising and stewardship. Develops parent donor-centric stewardship strategies and meaningful engagement opportunities, utilizing thoughtful discernment to tailor outreach. Applies the principle of cura personalis to balance ambitious institutional fundraising goals with genuine care for donors’ holistic relationship to the University. Provides administrative/budget support. Tracks, analyzes, and monitors expenses for the various activities of the Parent and Family Philanthropy team.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with fundraising databases and tools ( CRM Advance, Fundraiser Performance Management, etc.) Experience working in a fundraising and/or education setting.
