POSITION TITLE: Data Modernization Marketing and Communications Analyst

OVERVIEW
The CDC Foundation seeks to hire a Marketing & Communications Analyst to assist the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) team within the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of the Commissioner. The incumbent will work with the Change Management subgroup to support the agency-wide data modernization. DMI involves all DPH, spanning policy, people, process, and platforms. DMI directly impacts DPH’s organizational priorities, how staff interacts with data and how outside entities interact with the organization. For the optimal success of this transformation, a human-centered strategic approach to managing change is necessary. The change management team’s focus is communicating with and educating those that are influenced by or impacted DMI and promoting the most successful transformation possible.
The Marketing & Communications Analyst will support change management for DMI by producing marketing materials and communications that engage with all MDPH related audiences, including MDPH employees, other state agencies, and the outside organizations who regularly interact with MDPH data. The predominate communication audience will be DPH staff such as epidemiologists, data analysts, and program managers or program staff. The incumbent will work closely with all members of the DMI team and will receive supervision from the Data Transformation & Partnerships Manager. This position will also support the strategic communication of DMI plans and progress.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•At least 3-5 years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, advertising and/or communications, particular communications to an internal audience.
•At least 3 years of experience in writing, editing, and strategic management of content.
•Familiarity with the marketing principles, change management, and data modernization initiatives.
•Willingness to learn the principles and background of data modernization in the public health sector and to use this knowledge in the performance of this role.
•Experience communicating complex findings to lay audiences through written reports and presentations.
•Experience in conducting needs assessments and gap analyses, and in conducting communications assessments.
•Proficiency in using other Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
•Experience working with Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration platforms.
•Superb attention to detail and accuracy, including the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills including text editing.
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure and perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the aptitude to collaborate with multiple staff.
•Ability to handle confidential materials and work in a professional and courteous manner.

•Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and engaging in professional development activities
•Website content development and maintenance

•Hybrid work preferred, reporting once per week to the Boston location at 250 Washington Street.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work with Manager of Transformation & Partnerships to carry out strategic implementation of change management for the MDPH Data Modernization Initiative. As a marketing professional this will be through creating marketing campaigns, communication, and promotion efforts.
•Engage with the MDPH Commissioner’s Office communications team to engage with all MDPH staff about DMI. Liaise with communications liaisons from each MDPH bureau to ensure further outreach.
•Create presentations and trainings for internal audiences to promote the DMI and keep staff updated on its progress.
•Leverage skills in writing and editing to assist with implementation of clear, effective content.
•Actively seek feedback and input from interest holders on communications to continually improve efforts and messaging.
•Manage upkeep for DMI SharePoint site, the main repository of information for the DMI. Collect metrics on SharePoint site’s usability and make recommendations for improvement.
•Research new marketing and promotion features, tools, and trends and, as appropriate, make recommendations for their use.
•When appropriate work with outside vendors to create materials such as videos.
•To progress DPH’s Strategic Plan to Advance Racial Equity (SP-ARE) related work, apply racial justice/health equity framing to content.
•Perform quality checks and testing of DMI communications to ensure effective user experience.
•Attend DMI staff meetings of the DMI team and represent the DMI team at other meetings as needed at the Department/Division/Bureau level(s).
•Complete all mandatory MDPH training.
