Founded in 1971, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is a not-for profit youth development organization dedicated to promoting the educational, vocational, health leadership and character of boys and girls in a safe, nurturing environment. The Clubs provide more than a safe, fun and constructive alternative to being home alone – they offer a variety of award-winning developmental programs to help youth build skills, self-esteem and values during critical periods of growth. The thirteen Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Palm Beach County serve more than 6,000 children ages 6-18.
Key roles and responsibilities of the Vice President of Philanthropy are leadership, development, donor relations and stewardship, donor research, marketing and public relations.

Develop and implement a strategic plan for all BGCPBC Foundation single and multi-year fundraising efforts, including endowment, major gifts, annual gifts, corporate gifts, online giving, and planned gifts; and work with the CEO, Foundation Board, volunteer leaders and staff, to successfully execute the plan.

Serve as an articulate, highly active and visible spokesperson to the donor community and a variety of key constituencies to enhance recognition and support for BGCPBC.

Provide leadership, direction and oversight on stewardship process for the organization to ensure individuals, foundations, small businesses, major corporations, groups and government agencies are acknowledged, managed and leveraged.

Initiate and strengthen relationships with all constituents through a systematic cultivation plan designed to build trust in, and long term commitment to, the organization.

Research and qualify prospective donors by identifying individuals, foundations, small businesses, major corporations, groups and government agencies that have the capacity and propensity to give.

Present solicitation strategies to organization’s leaders to establish consensus for action.

Utilize and optimize, Raiser’s Edge, a secure donor database system.

Develop and implement an annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan in order to inform constituents and identified markets about the mission, vision, and values of the organization, its funding priorities, and gift opportunities.

Ensure that all fundraising activities and policies reflect the values of the organization and satisfy legal and ethical standards.

Manage the activities and functions of the Foundation Board of Directors.

Participate in recruiting experienced and diverse leadership on the Foundation Board and committees in order to ensure that these groups are representative of, and responsive to, the communities served.

Foster and support a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, public relations, or business administration.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a non-profit agency with emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and public relations.
Experience in leading multi-million dollar capital/endowment campaign(s) preferred.
CFRE preferred but not required.
Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fundraising issues.
Raiser's Edge experience a plus.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
