Reporting to the Executive Director of Community Engagement and working closely with the Principal and School Foundation, the Director of Philanthropy will:
- Lead the delivery of a school-wide philanthropic strategy across all donor groups and communities, aligned with Caulfield Grammar’s vision and growth, that champions a culture of collaboration, innovation, responsiveness and service-oriented excellence
- Build and steward significant, long-term relationships with major donors, bequestors, and philanthropic partners
- Oversee a comprehensive campaign supporting infrastructure projects, scholarships and strategic bequests
- Inspire generosity through highly relational engagement initiatives and donor stewardship
- Provide leadership and support to the Caulfield Grammar School Foundation Board members, campaign volunteers and staff, as well as directly manage and empower a high-performing Philanthropy Team
- Manage the team budgets, reporting and compliance in line with best-practice fundraising standards and School policy
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to lead the development and implementation of the communications strategy for key donors, major gift projects and campaigns
About YOU: - Proven leadership in philanthropy programs, including comprehensive campaigns, major gifts, and bequests, with a strong record of securing significant philanthropic contributions.
- Demonstrated success in donor engagement, encompassing identification, solicitation, closing, and stewardship of relationships.
- Strategic and relationship-focused, with exceptional influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Expertise in designing and executing effective fundraising strategies that drive impact and growth.
- Collaborative and highly organised, with a passion for creating meaningful outcomes through philanthropy.
- Experienced people leader, with a track record of developing and empowering high-performing teams.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Education, Business Management, or Communications (highly desirable).
- Deep understanding of philanthropic landscape in Australia, as well as the independent education sector, including parent and alumni cultures and engagement dynamics.
