KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Under the strategic guidance of the Country Director and direct supervision by Head of NBD, the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnership Manager will be responsible for the following areas of accountability:
Scoping and supporting the creation of new private and innovative partnerships (50%)
· Support on early engagement, scoping, and ideation for partnerships with business, philanthropy, and multi-stakeholder coalitions in collaboration with SC members and country colleagues.
· Conduct preliminary research and analysis to inform the best way to approach such engagements and prioritize actions
· Help strengthen Save the Children’s brand in Egypt and work to develop strong strategy for partnerships development that can contribute to transformational programming, utilising the expertise and funding of donors in the region.
· Lead on external meetings with potential business and philanthropic partners, as needed, supporting workshops and coordinate key internal stakeholders through early conversations.
· Contribute to the engagement of institutional stakeholders that might be interested in developing a multistakeholder partnership, leveraging on private companies’ contributions.
· Provide strategic and technical support for the identification of innovative models of partnership, acting as a champion and subject matter expert within Save the Children for new and emerging forms of partnership, including shared value collaborations, innovative business model and innovative financing schemes that can attract the interest of private stakeholders.
· Proactively identify and develop opportunities within new and existing partners which leverage the unique assets and capabilities of business to test and embed new modalities of collaboration which optimise the capabilities and expertise of each partner and allow Save the Children to achieve even greater impact for children.
· Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in NGO-business partnerships and sector leading examples outside of Save the Children to inform strategy and ongoing conversations.
High-quality programme development for business and philanthropic partners (25%)
· Support programme development as necessary, working closely with country office staff to develop Theories of Change, log frames, MEAL frameworks etc. which result in impactful programming.
· Involve business partners in the process where appropriate in order to ensure their interests are considered, delivering shared value where possible and leveraging their unique capabilities.
· Produce high quality, compelling, and accurate materials to engage businesses and secure partnerships. These documents include concept notes, specific thematic work overviews and full proposals – all of which must be compelling to business leaders.
· Ensure that country office and member offices collaborate effectively to gather and assess business partner, competitor, and internal information relevant to upcoming major opportunities.
· Proactively address challenges that may hinder the proposal development process.
Concept and proposal development (25%)
· Collaborate with relevant Country Office team to develop high quality proposals and budgets to secure funds from corporate donors and philanthropic organizations.
· Produce proposal development schedules and track timelines, ensuring and facilitating coordination amongst teams (PDQ, Programme Operations, Finance, HR and Security) in a timely and quality fashion.
· Ensure that Programme Quality Framework and Theory of Change is addressed in all new proposals and that key elements of programme quality are included (e.g. child participation, child safeguarding, gender, lessons learned from past proposals, accountability, risk assessments, effective and sustainable partnerships, etc.).
· Ensure internal SCI compliance documents are completed for each opportunity and uploaded to relevant systems.
· Ensure that all quality and cross cutting aspects are articulated in proposals including MEAL, gender, accountability to affected populations, child safeguarding, etc. |
