The Online Career Advisor is responsible for guiding and supporting learners along their career training services and credentialing journey. This role focuses on providing career advice, monitoring learner progress, and conducting follow-up to ensure successful course completion. The advisor will utilize platforms such as ed2go and other online learning systems to assist participants in achieving their career goals. The position emphasizes personalized guidance, progress tracking, and proactive communication to foster a positive and effective virtual learning experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual career advising and guidance to learners enrolled in online training programs.
- Monitor learner progress across platforms such as ed2go.
- Conduct regular follow-up with learners to ensure engagement and successful course completion.
- Analyze learner data and generate progress reports to evaluate outcomes.
- Assist learners with technical navigation and access to online training platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address learner needs and resolve challenges.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in online education and career development.
- Ensure all advising activities meet divisional standards and contractual requirements.
- Responsible for documenting individual results of training activity.
- Responsible for preparing and analyzing statistical data of training services and activities.
- Support and sustain a culture conducive to adult learning and professional growth.
- Maintaining knowledge of new trends and tools in adult learning.
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Goodwill training activity.
- All other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- B.S. Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Works, Education, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in the human services field or providing training and professional development services.
- Proficiency in online learning platforms (e.g., ed2go), LMS administration, and digital communication tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) preferred but not required.
- Experience working with adults with disabilities and familiarity with virtual training methods is advantageous.
- Experience may be considered instead of education at the discretion of the Vice President of Mission Services.
