What You’ll Do
As an HIM Clerk, you will manage the lifecycle of patient records through a blend of digital and physical tasks:

Data & Documentation: Process medication queries, scan continuity of care documents, and manage correspondence requests across multiple locations.

Quality Control: Perform daily and monthly compliance audits (such as Service Verifications) to ensure our records are timely, accurate, and complete.

Digital Record Keeping: Use systems like MyAvatar to scan, import, and organize documents, and handle EMR corrections.

Team Support: Collaborate with the HIM team to process chart closings, manage provider change requests, and assist with mail distribution.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Experience: None
- Must have good organizational skills
- Must have ability to read, write, spell, and type proficiently
- Must have ability to alphabetize and sort in terminal digit order proficiently
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Must have ability to work independently
- Must be attentive to detail
- Must have ability to prioritize workload
- Must be able to sit for a minimum of two hours at a time
- Must have ability to move sliding and crank files, and be able to retrieve and file charts overhead, and able to bed and squat with no restrictions
- Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be proficient at basic keyboarding/word processing skills
- Must be able to pass Kansas Bureau of Investigation Screen, Central Registry Screen, and DCF (Kansas Dept. for Children & Families, formerly SRS) background check
