Jasiri Talent Investor identifies and selects individuals with the potential to create high-growth ventures aimed towards market creating innovations and guides them in the development of startups from scratch. The program introduces Jasiri Fellows to equally ambitious co-founders, and supports them on an individual, team and business level through seasoned Facilitators, Mentors and Business Coaches.
Jasiri Growth Accelerator invests in early stage, high potential startups that may still be too risky for commercial funders to invest in. Early-stage ventures with potential for high growth and demonstrated product-market fit are provided with funding to support their growth and assisted with investor readiness.
ROLE FOCUS
The Jasiri Community Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and engagement of a growing Regional Community of Jasiri Entrepreneurs including current and former participants for both the Jasiri Talent Investor and the Growth Accelerator. Further s/he will build and maintain relationships with the Regional Community of Investors including Angels and Venture Capitalists who will in turn support Jasiri Ventures.
Key Performance Areas:
Community Building
• Lead and manage the development of a strong and vibrant community of Jasiri Fellows, Jasiri Entrepreneurs, and Alumni Network through developing, executing, and owning a community development strategy and related engagement activities.
Ecosystem Development
• Manage Angel Networks including the coordination of Angels’ needs assessment and implementation of the agreed support (such as training) to the Angels.
• Work alongside the Program Lead and Venture Builder to understand the portfolio or Jasiri businesses and engage relevant Investors.
• Champion building of the Jasiri brand in Eastern Africa by leveraging social channels and facilitating meaningful connections with the entrepreneurship ecosystem, identifying entrepreneurial events and leaders in the ecosystem, hosting events, and representing AGGP and its programs in meetings, conferences, and events.
Recruitment and Selection
• Spearhead relationship building that facilitates the process of searching for, and selecting high-potential individuals (Talent Investor) and promising ventures (Growth Accelerator) in our Countries of operation in collaboration with the Country Directors, Lead Recruiter and Selection Lead.
People Management
• Manage Community Building Officers in our countries of operation as they implement in country community building, ecosystem development and recruitment tasks in their respective countries.
General Roles
• Provide regular updates and written progress reports.
Job Requirements:
Experience and Education:
• Over 4 years’ experience in building communities in the entrepreneurial ecosystem
• A demonstrable track record and expertise in either of the following; Stakeholder Management, Partnerships, Ecosystem Development, Fundraising and Community Outreach.
• Exceptional record of mobilising, motivating and managing entrepreneurs and investor networks.
• Familiarity with entrepreneurial principles, practices, methodologies, and competencies.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Studies and/or Social Studies.
Skills and Competencies:
• Language & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• People: Ability to work with team members and external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional people skills with strong ability to inspire, motivate and influence others.

The position is that of an experienced Community Manager who is a well-connected individual/ entrepreneur in the Eastern Africa entrepreneurial ecosystem We require a Jasiri Community Manager to act as the liaison between Jasiri and its growing primary audience and contribute to making the Jasiri brand become well known in the Eastern Africa ecosystem.
