MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Development, Business, or a closely related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in development, marketing, communications or a closely related field is required. Three (3) of the seven (7) years must involve development related activities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in healthcare preferred.
JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Hospital Philanthropy will develop and direct the formulation and implementation of hospital engagement and fundraising, supporting the goals and objectives of the foundation. This position will engage with hospital executive teams and physicians to develop philanthropic priorities as well as create and implement strategies to efficiently fundraise at each hospital. Additionally, this position will develop relationships with community leaders and board members at Piedmont hospitals to solicit gifts and identify new potential donors. Provide supervision and direction for event operations and solicitations as well as for the hospital fundraising team assigned to support the fundraising efforts for Piedmont hospitals. Supervise and provide leadership to staff members to meet department and organizational goals participating in performance management process including performance evaluation, coaching, and development of direct reports. Helps to manage fundraising performance providing analysis, decision support, and strategic fundraising strategy insight to hospital and foundation leadership. Manages a donor portfolio of approximately 50 donors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and direct the formulation and implementation of hospital engagement and fundraising, supporting the goals and objectives of the foundation. Prepares written proposals, corporate grant requests, gift agreements, cases for support, and other materials for prospect development and solicitation.
• Engage with hospital executive teams and physicians to develop philanthropic priorities as well as create and implement strategies to efficiently fundraise at each hospital.
• Supervise and provide leadership to staff members to meet department and organizational goals participating in performance management process including performance evaluation, coaching, and development of direct reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Targeted active portfolio of approximately 50 people.
• Identifies donors and prospective donors and cultivates ongoing relationships designed to move prospects to a greater level of engagement with Piedmont Healthcare.
• Maintains general knowledge of healthcare trends and fundraising trends within healthcare.
• Participates in professional development organizations and associations and attends educational seminars for professional development.
