Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving

Salary: $110,000 to $125,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience
Terrific fundraising position with an international conservation nonprofit. The Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of fundraising for a major gifts portfolio of donors and prospects capable of giving at the 5- to 7-figure level. The position will be focused on creating and implementing major gifts fundraising strategies, securing new major gifts, increase giving levels from existing donors, and stewarding donors through various meetings and events. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of securing major gifts. Experience with an environmental or conservation focused nonprofit is a plus. Candidates should have strong relationship management skills. This is a remote position that can be performed anywhere in the U.S. The salary range for the Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving is $110,000 to $125,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of major donors capable of giving at the 5- to 7-figure level (including some prospect research)
- Create and implement fundraising strategies for major gift development
- Identify donors capable of increased giving levels and implement various approaches to close larger gifts
- Collaborate with the Development team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, Marketing and Programs teams, to further fundraising efforts
- Develop and organize major donor events
- Oversee the Board Fundraising Committee
- Travel for organizational events and to meet with donors, as needed
Qualifications:
- Track record of securing gifts from a portfolio of major donors capable of giving at 5-figures and above
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong connections with donors and prospects (i.e., strong stewardship skills)
- Comfortable working in a remote environment, with some travel
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to strengthen major giving
- Experience utilizing a donor CRM
- Mission driven; experience with a conservation or environment focused nonprofit is a plus
