Sitting within the Strategy and Planning Department, Planning and Integration (along with Government Relations, Host City Management, Human Rights, Sustainability and Venue Business Strategy) aims to deliver the most engaging, innovative and accessible World Cup experience for all players, fans, partners and the community.
Reporting organizationally to the Head of Operational & Client Planning, the Readiness & C4 Senior Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the FWC26 Tournament co-ordination and readiness strategies. The role co-ordinates the delivery of the Tournament Operating structures and operational readiness activities. With the largest ever Tournament footprint, daily operations across three countries and a complex mix of stakeholders, readiness and Tournament co-ordination must be seen as an integrated objective by all entities. The role of the Readiness and C4 Senior Manager is critical to making this objective a reality.
THE POSITION
The main responsibilities of the Readiness & C4 Senior Manager include:
- Work with Functional Areas in USA, CAN and MEX to ensure a consistent approach to Readiness and C4
- Operational Readiness
- Work with functions/projects to identify readiness objectives and support alignment of these objectives with Tournament stakeholders
- Develop and implement the readiness strategy for functions/projects and complex processes to demonstrate progress against FWC26 readiness objectives
- Identify and assess risks that could have an impact to the Tournament and co-ordinate the development of contingency plans with relevant stakeholders
- Capture and track lessons identified during all readiness exercises including test events, observation events etc.
- Support the tender and selection process of a readiness activity provider
- Tournament governance
- Develop and implement the operating structure for effective command, co-ordination and communication (C4) during Tournament operations
- Map Tournament stakeholders (i.e. partners, government authorities, political leadership etc.), identify the relevant points of contact to define roles and responsibilities
Define and develop the appropriate C4 plans, policies, procedures and processes - Confirm and source all requirements for Tournament Operations Centers
- Determine thresholds for issue escalation and related processes and ensure these are aligned to FIFA’s Incident Management and Reporting System (IMRS)
- Provide reporting and updates to Function leads on operational capability status and progress
- During the Tournament, the role will transition into managing the day-to-day operations of the Tournament Operations and all aspects related to the resolution of issues
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of higher education in business, project management or a related field
- A minimum experience of 5 years in managing complex projects/operations at the national and/or international level
- A minimum experience of 3 years of experience in stakeholder management and integration
- A comprehensive knowledge of major event management and event operational functions
- Experience developing, communicating and implementing actionable, succinct strategic plans
- Experience in the delivery of operational readiness programmes
- Experience in the management of operations centers and operational information
- Experience in identifying key operational decisions that need to be made, designing improved policies and plans and identification of dependencies and constraints that impact decision making
- Experience of managing and communicating change with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively
- Experience in co-ordinating multiple projects concurrently and under pressure
- Significant experience in clear presentation and communication of key information
- Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
