STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Under the direction of the Vice President of CCNS Clinics, Rehabilitation, and Recovery Services the Director of Training will be responsible for the development of clinical training curriculums and plans, training policies and procedures, collection of data and information to validate an identified gap in professional practice, and to determine the specific knowledge, skill or practice deficit or opportunity. The Director of Training facilitates and oversees the clinical training for all of Integrated Health and Wellness staff/interns in the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Services (CCNS) behavioral health division including its Article 31 clinics, Personalized Recovery Oriented Services, Substance Use Recovery and Wellness Programs, and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). The Director of Training will implement a new workforce development initiative including the launch of a mentoring program for undergraduate students to inspire them to pursue careers in behavioral health and a division-wide training institute. The Director of Training will also be a clinical resource for managers and direct service staff promoting best practices. The Director of Training will also work to develop new service models for CCNS client populations.
• Maintains current knowledge and competency in social work and professional development practice.
• Acts as champion of scientific inquiry, generating new knowledge and integrating best available evidence into practice.
• Advise other division leaders about training needs within the outpatient mental health clinic and other behavioral health settings and promote industry best practices at the organization.
• Assists the CCBHC Program Evaluators and Data Analysts to:
o Identifies desired outcomes of the training plan.
o Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes
o Considers factors related to quality, safety, effectiveness, and cost regarding professional development activities and expected outcomes.
o Evaluates program practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
o Quality assurance activities, including chart and observational peer reviews, assisting in preparing for audits and accreditation evaluations.
o Collaborates with the inter-professional teams, leaders, stakeholders and others to facilitate behavioral health practice and positive outcomes for clients
• Collaborates with Social Work Practicum Educator Instructor to provide clinical supervision to
students/interns and new clinicians, in both individual and group modalities, and supervision of
clinical consultation groups as needed.
• Provide supervision and consultation in crises services, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist
• Masters in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
• 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience
• Well versed in evidence based best clinical practices
• Prior clinical supervisory experiences
• Knowledgeable with screening for common mental health and/or substance use disorders
• Knowledgeable with assessment and treatment planning for common mental health and/or
substance use disorders,
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and communication skills to work with a multidisciplinary team
• Prior community-based work experiences
• Experience or interests in research and outreach
• Sensitivity to diverse cultural and linguistic populations
• Ability to work in teams.
• Demonstration of potential to effectively present information and teach/demonstrate skills to others in a classroom situation
