This is a remote position covering Regions 6, 7, and 8 which include the following states: New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, North + South Dakota, and Montana.
Under the direction of the Field Operations Manager, NYAP’s Community Service Coordinator (CSC) perform community outreach, coordinate community activities, develop community relationships, liaise with community contacts and expand community social service partners within a region that provide social, legal, medical, mental health, and other services to released unaccompanied children per Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requirements. CSCs must have outstanding communication skills, project management experience, knowledge of community programs and referral process, familiarity with ORR population needs and aptitude for connecting with people. CSCs must have a working understanding of NYAP/ORR Policies and Procedures and an understanding of the HS/PRS process and possess knowledge of local community social services and working with immigrant populations. Additionally, CSCs must be knowledgeable of family preservation, kinship care, and general child welfare.

Perform community outreach within a designated region to engage local and community partners to provide post release services (PRS) to minors in the following areas: Placement Stability and Safety, Parenting, Immigration Proceedings, Guardianship, Legal Services, Education, Medical Services, Individual Mental Health Services, Family Stabilization/Counseling, Substance Abuse, Gang Prevention, Trafficking Victim Assistance Programs (TVAP), Aspire, and other services as needed or required.

Actively coordinate community activities, develop community relationships, liaise with community contacts and expand community social service partners to align with ORR requirements and PRS services provision.

Establish working relationships with local, National and community-based organizations responsible for social services within a specific region and proposed area of operations.

Liaise with ORR care providers and NYAP’s HS/PRS staff to best identify local, community and National providers for children released from ORR care and assist in linking minors to services.

Plan, organize and manage outreach activities for increased awareness of needed services within a designated region.

Collect data to evaluate impact of services and evaluate opportunities for improvement and growth.

Work alongside Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Coordinators to refer, coordinate, and assist child victims of human trafficking in connecting to services and linking children to local and National agencies or community partners for needed resources.

Work alongside OTIP providers including supporting TVAP and Aspire Child and Youth Services Program.

Ensure excellence and best practices in documentation, completion of reports, and timely uploads.

Provide and foster a management approach that adopts a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, evaluation, and advocacy for options and services to meet the unaccompanied child and the sponsor's presenting needs.

Provide and ensure effective communication with staff, care providers, and ORR stakeholders.

Possess a working understanding of NYAP/ORR Policies and Procedures, Flores Agreement as well as other applicable, and pertinent regulations and laws including the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) of 2008 et.al.
