EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, including psychology, social work or sociology, and six (6) months of experience performing work on a full-time basis providing client care in a mental health setting; or possession of a high school diploma or equivalent degree and two (2) years’ experience performing work on a full-time basis providing client care in a mental health setting and/or support services to mental health clients and their families. Licensed/Waivered/Registered Mental Health Professional or Graduate student/Trainee in an MFT/MSW/LPCC approved program; Bilingual competency is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires skills in engaging and working directly with the clients and also with parents as partners. Must be able to work successfully with families from diverse ethnic and cultural groups. Crisis management or Residential Treatment experience or experience working with severely emotionally disturbed/mentally ill clients preferred. Must be self-directed, efficient, use time management skills, and be results-oriented. Must function as a productive member of a service team, and of the Child and Family Team, and maintain clear and appropriate boundaries with clients, families, and other members of the team(s). Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to function independently and with minimal oversight in an effective and productive manner. Ability to use various computer software (Office XP, Windows XP) and Outlook a must.
Valid California Driver's License with excellent driving record. Use of personal car at times with mileage reimbursement. Must have proof of insurance.
