We are seeking a new senior research analyst to join our policyholder services analytics team. As the right candidate, you thrive outside of the box, and you’re fueled by relentless curiosity. Your key responsibilities will include supporting the premium audit and underwriting division with data governance, reports and dashboards, result analyses, and metric development. You will communicate this work to a range of audiences within SAIF.

Responsibilities:
Develop tools, analytical processes, and reporting systems to gather data. Convert data into management information for monitoring and evaluating operational performance.
Prepare summary reports, briefs, testimony, and exhibits for management and regulatory needs.
Serve as a consultant and resource for internal and external business information, pro-active problem resolution, and the application of analytical techniques.
Plan and conduct operational studies. Compile information and synthesize, analyze, and evaluate complex data and issues to develop and recommend improvements for policies, procedures, practices, programs, and products.
In conjunction with the Information Services (IS) division, evaluate and maintain data control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve data flows and processes.
Monitor external information sources for developments that may affect SAIF’s operations and strategies, including such areas as regional business conditions, competitors, demographics, legal or regulatory changes, and medical patterns and practices. Assess potential impacts, and present recommendations on possible responses for management consideration.
Analyze data trends and variability and assess the statistical likelihood of certain outcomes.
Perform financial analyses and prepare forecasts for proposed initiatives, programs, and capital expenditures.
In conjunction with the actuarial unit, assist in developing rates for various products, updating the expense allocation model, and claims reserving.
Work closely with IS staff to determine customer reporting needs, assist in the development and testing of reports for quality assurance, correct any deficiencies, and maximize utilization of available technology.

Recommended qualifications:
Experience: Five years operational or financial research and analysis experience. An insurance industry or finance background with experience using business intelligence or equivalent tools is preferred.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits
Typical hiring range: $88,842 - $104,520. The pay range for this position is annually based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications & education.

Full salary range: $78,390 - $130,650
