CareerWise is a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization that creates life-changing opportunities for the youngest generation of America’s workforce. We build industry-led, student-centered, modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and on-the-job learning providing flexible, alternative pathways to economic mobility. We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace, charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition, workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model. As a result, our programs have launched in multiple states, leveraging our institutional knowledge, technology, and infrastructure.
Who We’re Looking For:
Are you a well-rounded marketing communications professional that enjoys managing multiple projects and interacting and counseling teams on how to effectively move audiences to action? Do you like building and executing social, email and event-based campaigns? And, are you motivated by mission-driven work?
CareerWise has affiliates across the country, but our biggest and most experienced is CareerWise Colorado (CWC). We need a marketing associate who will lead the charge for CWC’s marketing initiatives, but you won’t be doing it alone. We have an awesome marketing team of smart, fun people that roles up our sleeves and gets stuff done!
We’re looking for someone with a few years’ experience to provide marketing communications counsel for CWC projects early in the planning process, and then shepherd our team’s piece of the project through to completion.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, the Marketing Manager will be supporting CareerWise Colorado’s social media platforms and content calendar, local online and in-person event coordination, and email marketing campaigns. In many cases this position may serve as the first point of contact for other CWC teams, and as such, candidates for this role must demonstrate exceptional project management and critical thinking skills.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- CONSULTATION | Attend various team meetings and apply a marketing communication lens to project planning
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT | Coordinate communications, design, content, and logistics across CareerWise teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of quality projects
- EVENTS | Supporting the planning and execution of local events for various audiences such as students, employers, educators and policymakers.
- SOCIAL | Contribute strategic content and guidance for CareerWise Colorado’s social media presence on various platforms
- EMAIL COMMS | With guidance from the digital marketing manager, build and execute email and text communications through Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Key competencies to be successful in this role:
- Comfort with change and ambiguity—We’re doing something new, so there’s no playbook. Depending on your personality, this can be exciting or scary!
- Assured in your ability to provide appropriate counsel to all levels of the organization
- Project management skills, including with tools such as Monday.com
- Familiarity with the basics of event planning and coordination
- Familiarity with digital communications and various digital platforms
- Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
- Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision

Additional proficiencies:
- Three to five years of experience in general marketing and/or communications
- Exceptional project management and critical thinking skills
- Professional communication skills in person and online
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience preferred (but not required) using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe suite
- Experience and interest in working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement

Location:
This role is based in Denver. CareerWise staff typically work a hybrid work schedule with varying days in the office and other days remote. Remote work is not guaranteed and the schedule must be approved by the supervisor. There may be occasions (possibly 1-3 times per year) for staff to gather together in person. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.
Compensation:
The starting salary range for this role is: $66,306 (min) - $74,236 (mid) annually; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA. CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical, dental, and vision plans, short-term disability, 100% vested 401k Plan with a 3% employer contribution, and Flexible Time Off.
