Essential Job Functions
- Plans, organizes and implements major departmental educational and social events to encourage student involvement and engagement
- Manages and facilitates department events, campuswide
- Acts as the liaison with other departments for campuswide and departmental events through providing support and resources, as needed
- Assesses and evaluates the department's programming, activities and services and develops strategic plans for improvement
- Creates and implements various training programs to assist student organization leaders in their professional development
- Assess, oversee and mitigate risk for department events, occurring throughout the year
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in student activities or other related experience
- Valid U.S. driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education administration or a related field of study
- Experience with risk mitigation for nationally recognized fraternities and sororities
