An NGO is seeking a PR Communications Specialist for 2-3 months to assist in launching a large PR campaign. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing brand visibility and fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders. The suitable candidate must be available immediately. Preferably based in Johannesburg and surrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Copywriting: The PR Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating engaging and persuasive copy for press releases, media kits, website content, social media posts, and other promotional materials.
- Media Launches: They will develop and execute strategies for successful media launches, ensuring maximum visibility and impact for the organisation's initiatives.
- Media Pitching: The incumbent will pitch campaigns, interviews, and stories to media outlets, journalists, and influencers, leveraging their strong relationships and persuasive communication skills.
- Press Releases Localisation: They will adapt press releases to suit regional and demographic differences, ensuring relevance and resonance with diverse audiences.
- Angle Identification: The PR Communications Specialist will identify unique and compelling angles to highlight the organisation's mission and impact, effectively capturing media attention and public interest.
- Project Coordination: They will coordinate PR activities, including events, media briefings, and promotional campaigns, to ensure seamless execution and maximum coverage.
- Relationship Management: Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with members of the media, influencers, and other stakeholders is a key responsibility, fostering positive and collaborative partnerships.
Requirements
- Proven experience in PR, communications, or related field, with a strong track record of success in media relations and campaign management.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a creative flair.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively pitch ideas and build relationships with media professionals.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
