An established and independent food fund, dedicated to serving communities by ensuring access to nutritional food is seeking a Half-day Chief Operating Officer to join their team. Working with the CEO, the COO will be responsible for the design and implementation of the organisation’s strategy relating to the areas mentioned below.
- The management and leadership of the cross-functional team on a day-to-day basis.
- Management of the organisation on an operational level, including:
Fundraising
Relationship Manager and call-centre team management
Strategy to grow donor database
Driving of ongoing initiatives to secure recurring payments, recurring food donations and reduction of food costs
Donor and volunteer “thank you” strategy
Innovation in fundraising
Identifying relevant donor contact points
Marketing management
Project management, development, and implementation of information systems & processes, e.g. CRM
Operations
Streamlining of the supply-chain to recipients and quality control of orders, packing, on-site distribution, delivery.
Supplier agreements to ensure best terms are secured
Ongoing improvement of recipient experience
Accounts Management, control and overview
Automation of financial accounting and reporting systems.
Interrogation and implementation of sound, financial controls.
HR
Basic HR and management of staff and any staff issues
Requirements
- Degreed individual
- Current/previously at an operational level
- Current/previous experience from a mid-large company
- Financial acumen
- Confident to make strategic decisions
