Summer in the City (SITC) Camp Leader

About the Position: This is a Full-Time Temporary position, end of June to end of August (approximately 10 weeks). The Camp Leader will assist the Camp Coordinator in planning and implementing the activities of the program, interact and lead children in daily activities and supervise children in the programming and field trips. The Camp Leader will also work as part of a team with the Camp Coordinator, other SITC leaders and youth volunteers. In addition, the Camp Leader will assist with evaluation of the program and participate in staff training and workshops.

About You: You have demonstrated ability and previous experience in working with children and youth. You are a self-motivated individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. You are able to work well in a team environment and are highly organized, allowing you to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time. You are also extremely adaptable and can adjust to changing priorities as needed. In addition, you have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds. You are culturally competent and able to conduct yourself in a manner which is respectful and encouraging of the cultural/spiritual beliefs and practices of others.
Experience working within a non-profit setting would be considered an asset. Must have current First Aid certification. The successful candidate must have a Police Information Check and an Intervention Record Check completed upon hire.
