ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY - ASSOCIATE, PEOPLE
For the last ten years, Medha has delivered a unique experiential learning program to young people in the ‘Hindi-belt. ‘Based on the Four Cs of 21st-century skills – communications, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking – the program aims to prepare young people to start and excel in diverse career paths of their choice.
Currently, Medha is hiring for HR Generalist. This role is for an individual who exhibits a keen eye for detail, organizational processes, and exceptional communication skills. In addition to being proficient team players, they are also adept at working independently. The core responsibilities of HR Generalists encompass a diverse array of HR-related tasks, such as talent acquisition and recruitment, onboarding and training, managing compensation and benefits, handling employee relations, and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance.
What you will do:
This position will involve a mix of:
Talent Management:
- Assist with the recruitment process, including job posting, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Facilitate pre-employment assessments and conduct background checks for prospective employees.
- Ensure a seamless onboarding process for new hires, coordinating all necessary sessions and orientations.
Data Compliance & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive employee records including but not limited to essential personal and professional details, complete employment history, performance evaluation records, training and development documentation, compensation and benefits data, as well as attendance, leave, and disciplinary records.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to conduct HR data audits and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to employee data inquiries and requests.
- Maintaining a secure and confidential HR database, managing employee records, and generating reports as needed.
Event Management
:
- Organizing company events and employee engagement activities to foster a positive work culture. o Coordinate with vendors and other departments to ensure smooth event execution.
Insurance Management:
- To ensure that employee records are updated and maintained accurately. Monitor any additions or deletions to the staff roster and provide assistance during emergency situations.
- Communicating benefits information to employees and handling related inquiries.
Exit Settlement:
- Manage the exit settlement process for departing employees.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to settle outstanding loans, advances, or other financial obligations.
- Verify the return of company assets and ensure the employee's clearance from all departments.
- Prepare the Full & Final Settlement Letter, detailing the breakdown of all components.
- Communicate the settlement details to departing employees with clarity and professionalism.
- Provide support and guidance throughout the settlement process.
What your day might look like:
While no two days are the same, some may look like this:
- The day starts with checking and updating the HRMIS, ZOHO People, and Excel backup.
- Create a to-do list for the day of all HR Admin-related tasks; checking Asana for approaching deadlines helps.
- Make a few important calls/meetings with different departments and employees.
- Check emails and send prompt replies.
- The last week of the month is super busy with attendance, follow-ups, birthday celebrations, and organizing farewells, if any.
