ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY - STUDENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGER, PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION (CORE PROGRAM TEAMPRENEUR)
For the last ten years, Medha has delivered a unique experiential learning program to young people in the ‘Hindi-belt.’
Based on the Four Cs of 21st-century skills – communications, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking – the program aims to prepare young people to start and excel in diverse career paths of their choice.
Constantly upgraded and enhanced, the program has evolved significantly over the last decade, along with changing student and market demands. As we look to the future of learning and work, we are doubling down on the program's transformative impact on young people’s lives.
Our students’ journey from education to employment is named as Swarambh program focuses on linking participants to Freelancing/ Gig works. This whole program is divided into 3 stages (Gyan, Kaushal and Kshamta). on their campuses with industrial exposure through expert talks, workplace visits, life like mock interviews, industry guided projects and internships. As they certify through the program and become medha alumni, their journey eventually matures into their first jobs, entrepreneurial ventures, and their growth beyond it.
All of this requires building relevant employer partnerships and counselling the students. With an ever-growing on field presence of Medha, the alumni network is swelling as well, career progression efforts need dedicated attention.
This profile requires a student centric individual who is willing to understand the ecosystem of the alum and their career aspiration & preferences, counsel them and their influencing network, simultaneously building the local employer/industry relations. Matching relevant opportunities and mentors to the right alum forms the core of this profile.

What you will do:
This position will involve a mix of:
- Student training, counseling, and mentorship in the “blended” environment: Train students on employability, Freelancing & entrepreneurship skills and guide them towards their career goals. We believe in building strong, lasting relationships with our students based on trust and mutual respect. You approach training and counseling with empathy and respect and believe everyone has their talents, abilities, and life path.
- Placement, freelance projects & self-employment: Connecting with alumni through various alumni events to identify their individual career needs. Sourcing need-based job/ internship/opportunities and relevant and pocket friendly upskilling options. Facilitating completion of internships, joining of first jobs and taking concrete steps towards path of financial independence in an entrepreneurial venture of their choice.
- Educational relationship management: Build and manage strong relationships with educational institutions. You are willing to work with existing faculty and administrators on campus to engage them in the Medha program and make sure they are active participants/supporters. You will be responsible for promoting the program on campus and registering students.
- Networking & building employer partnerships: Formalizing and growing relevant employer connections, identifying job & internship opportunities for alumni. Building mentor networks across different sectors, careers needs and entrepreneurial aspirations.
- Counselling & mentorship: Building alumni relationships based on trust and mutual respect. Introducing them to mid-level and senior level professionals and entrepreneurial networks for individual mentorship. Counselling them & their parents and mentoring alumni on career paths of their choice by matching needs with opportunities.
- Data management: Collecting, tracking, and reporting alumni data related to higher education, self-employment, career needs, etc for future reference and analysis purposes.
What your day might look like:
While no two days are the same, some may look like this:
- You will provide freelancing training to the Swarambh Participants.
- Buildup/maintaining the relationship with the Colleges and other stakeholders.
- You approach a local employer looking for relevant opportunities for a group of students.
- You collect feedback from the existing employers on the performance of placed students.
- You counsel a student to take up an exciting internship opportunity with an employer.
- You organize workplace exposure talks/visits for a group of students at a local employer location.
- You visit different companies to meet their HR/business managers and identify mentors for the students.
- You spend time on the internet searching for pocket-friendly upskilling courses that match the alumni need.
