The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is seeking a full-time Surgery Veterinarian to do high volume spays and neuters in our non-profit, AAHA accredited hospital. Other surgical skills would be a plus. Our hospital answers a critical need for affordable, high quality care and surgeries in the Tampa Bay area. This position will sometimes be working at our animal shelter on a needed basis. We have 125 staff which includes 10 veterinarians. It truly is a great place to work while helping animals and the owners that love them.
This position receives instructions from the Director of Animal Hospital and is responsible for all aspects of veterinary medicine such as diagnosing treating diseases, medical conditions and injuries of animals. Handle all animals will be done in a kind, compassionate and gentle manner. The veterinarian is bound by the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth in the employee handbook.

- Education: Must possess a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine
- Experience: Must possess a valid State of Florida license to practice veterinary medicine and have at least one year of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter.
- Skills: Must be personable, able to communicate with and direct staff and work as a member of a team. Must be able to life 50 pounds on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- DVM Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree
- Has and maintains a Valid and Current State of Florida Veterinarian License
- Computer skills required: Internet Software; (Outlook); and Shelter Luv software (or similar software).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders, run, stoop, bend, stand, push, pull, move and carry heavy objects.
- Standing for long periods.
